TESTIMONIALS
I have been thrilled to partner with Southwest Training Services, Inc. on numerous projects; for two summers our Teen Outreach has received student workers during the summer. The experience was a delightful one; not only did the teens receive expert preparation from Southwest Training Services, but they were monitored throughout their time with us and supported in the development of their work ethic. The benefits to our agency were obvious – we were given quality employees who added to our mission. The benefits to the young people were equally powerful – they were able to be part of our professional staff and were given insight into the real world of work.
As director of a Waynesburg area Summer Day Camp, through the Greater Waynesburg Christian Outreach, I have hired Southwest Training youth to serve as our Jr. Camp Counselors for the past 3 years. I love that local teens get the opportunity to give back to their own communities in this capacity, while earning invaluable job experience and wages. This program also helps us to manage the costs of providing a free, 6-week summer camp, by paying the wages of the youth we employ!
Southwest Training Services has helped me a great deal with college and career choices. It was a benefit to me in finding the importance of responsibility and hard work. Being in the program has helped me get ahead and make smart decisions. It is a privilege to be a part of the program.
Thanks to this program I was able to reserve a spot with the funds you provided. God has been so good in putting me in this program and he has provided in many ways through SWTS. I hope that the Southwest Training Program can continue to touch lives as it has mine.
Southwest Training has helped so many of students with career exploration, summer work, internships, help getting their GED and so much more! They go above and beyond to help every student they possibly can. If it wasn’t for their help, most of these students would not be on the path to success that they are on now.
The Southwest Training Work Experience program has been an outstanding opportunity for me to gain knowledge of different work environments as well as working with many different people. Through the past three years I have gained social skills, communication skills and an understanding of many important aspects of the workforce.
